My phone is disabled because my daughter entered the wrong passcode too many times. How do I make it so I can enter the correct one?

It's fully disabled and says to connect to iTunes which I've done but I don't see anywhere that will let me reset the passcode or enter the correct one as she says that she entered it over 11 times & had to wait a couple hours or something between times that she entered it. I see where it says that I can totally reset my phone but I've never backed it up to my computer or anything and don't want to lose everything on it.

You connect the phone to iTunes in order to erase it. You can’t reset the passcode using iTunes. It’s too late to worry about backing up now and there is no way to unlock it other than to restore it as new.
