how do I eliminate annoying Microsoft Edge popups when I have Safari and Microsoft Edge is not compatible?

How can I eliminate the annoying Microsoft Edge popups request to download when I have Safari and Microsoft Edge is not compatible? Yet the pop up continues every time I open Safari. Then repeats after I click the x to remove only to return when I open Safari?

Hi stan220,

Thanks for the response. Have you tried deleting the Microsoft Edge package from Applications? What steps did you complete and were unsuccessful?

If you still have an issue, let's try testing this in safe mode and another user account to see if you get the same result:

Microsoft Edge is compatible with iMac. You don't need to instal it of course.

If you are visiting Microsoft Websites, I'm sure they'll try to push their browser.

The new Microsoft Edge  is based on Chromium and was released on January 15, 2020. It is

compatible with all supported versions of Windows, and macOS.

Downloading the browser will replace the legacy version of Microsoft

Edgeon Windows 10 PCs. With speed, performance, best in class compatibility

for websites and extensions, and built-in privacy and security

features, it's the only browser you'll ever need.

Other websites may have ads for it too.

I cannot eliminate the annoying Microsoft Edge pop ups appearing on Safari AND Chrome.

Microsoft Edge is not compatible with iMac. Only with iPad and iPhone .

After deleting (clicking the X) the Microsoft Edge pop up reappears at the bottom of the screen in horizontal form.

A discussion with an Apple tech could not resolve stopping the pop ups.

Is this something I have to learn to live with or is there a solution to stop these popups.

Thank you for trying to help resolve the issue.

All the best.

I have taken every step that I can think of. I am missing the right one. That's why I posted the problem.

Apple techs have shared my screen trying to help delete the Microsoft pop ups. Unfortunately with no success.

Thank you for your suggestions and help. Microsoft Edge package is not in my applications, because it can only be downloaded and remain in my Downloads file and not implemented into Applications. Not compatible iOS message. Just recently Microsoft Edge has become compatible with iPhone and iPad. Not iMac. If I wait long enough it might be with the iMac. I'm happy with Safari or Chrome as an alternative. Microsoft Edge does not not know or want to know the the words; No thank you. I appreciate your concern.
