How do I populate my kids' calendars if we are using Family Sharing?

My kids (8 and 10) have Apple IDs in our Family Sharing iCloud account. Is there a way for me to populate their calendars on their behalf? What's the best way to do that? Actually, all of my own calendaring is in Google Calendar, even though I have an Apple ID as well (though I don't use that for my own calendar).

Sharing Calendars: Other calendars can also be managed by you if the owner of that calendar allow access. The owner is allowed to revoke access at any time.

To allow access, Enter Calendar Application > Calendars and click ⓘ on the specific calendar that you want to share and enter their or your iCloud/Phone #. This sharing goes both ways, you can share with them or they can share with you.

That calendar should show up on any of your devices with the same iCloud account as long as it's shared.

Google Calendars also has a similar function. You can edit the setting of a calendar and share with another user with a gmail. The google calendar app for iOS or iPad is here - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/google-calendar-time-planner/id909319292

Hi John,

This is a personal experience but a "family" calendar should show up when you join a family group. It can be found under the tab of Icloud when you press "calendars" inside the app

If you do find the calendar, you can add a event to that specific calendar using the + on the top left and specifying the "family" calendar.

More info on the app here, https://support.apple.com/guide/calendar/share-icloud-calendars-icl32362/mac

Also make sure the calendar sync in icloud is toggled to "ON" in settings.

Good luck!

Thanks, this is helpful, but not exactly what I had in mind

I'm looking for a way to freely add things to my kids' individual calendars from my own computer or Apple ID account. Do you know if that's possible to do? I know that some calendar services allow you to "delegate" ownership and ability to administer a calendar by an assistant, for instance.

Is that possible for a child's iCloud account?

Thanks!
