3rd Party Antivirus/security solutions with Catalina onwards

Hello!

Having tried BT Protect which seems overkill, Bitdefender (which says is not compatible with the next OS), and reading about others, and also taking into consideration the in-built protection by Apple in OS/X Catalina, I am unclear whether it is still good practice to install a 3rd party AV solution onto my Mac.

Any help/advice/experience would be appreciated.
