MacBook Pro and iPad Pro

I purchased the latest MacBook Pro and I have a iPad Pro purchased last year, With I tunes I could tell how much data I had on my iPad pro and download songs from my library With the new MacBook Pro MacOS Catalina, I can't seem to get my music to download or even recognize the IPAD Pro. Can anyone help
