I have a 2014 running 10.14.6 and i'm having trouble connecting all 3 sets of Beats, every time connect the Beats i have to debug the bluetooth module, the reason is that when i connect the Beats the sound is intermittent and the only way to solve the sound is to debug the bluetooth
Per chance is your wireless router near by your iMac? If so, it potentially could cause interference with your Bluetooth devices. Also have you tried resetting your Mac's SMC? How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

yes the router is next the the Mac but this problem has been getting worse over the las t month, no problem with keyboard/mouse and trackpad, will try SMC
