My phone has stopped working when uploading to Itunes I have a xr phone

When you encounter a frozen or black screen or you iPhone is otherwise non-responsive, please follow these steps. Hopefully those will help you resolve things.

If that doesn't work, you most likely will need to Contact Apple Support so you can have your phone serviced.
I am charging now - hopefully this will help, I have been doing the steps provided after and no results, but then again I did not charge first, thanks, will update later
