I recently got a MacBook Pro and I am trying to connect it with my iPad to do screen mirroring but even when I connect them with a cable and bluetooth, the Airplay icon doesn't appear on my laptop and my iPad can't find my laptop on screen mirroring. I can't connect them. I have no idea what's wrong and I don't know how to fix it. It looks like I'm doing everything right but it isn't working somehow. Can anybody help me?

AirPlay does not allow screen mirroring to an iPad from a Mac or vice versa. Basically, an Apple TV or smart TV is required as one of the screens in the process.

You have not told us your MacOS version. MacOS Catalina is required.
And you have not told us your iPadOS version. iPadOS 13 is required.
Well, you provided no details that might suggest why it didn’t work.
We don’t know the age or operating system version numbers of either your Mac or iPad. We don’t know your iPad model. And we don’t know if you meet the Sidecar requirements specified in the above article regarding proximity, two-factor, Wi-Fi, etc.
I have a 2019 model 16 inch MacBook Pro and an A1670 model 12.9 inch iPad Pro. My wifi and bluetooth was on. I was logged in with the same Apple ID on both devices. They were right next to each other and the two factor authentication was on. They were both using the same WiFi. So as you can see, I did everything correctly but it didn't work. Could you help me please?
I also tried sidecar but that also didn't work. What can I do?

Handoff was on.
