Home not synchronizing across devices

I have set up Home on my iOS devices and both my iPad and iPhone have the Home Kit compatible devices showing up by room as expected. However the Home App on MacOS does not show any of the rooms and devices that show up in iOS. This includes HomePods and Philips Hue Lamps/Bridges. I have iCloud set up on all devices, signed in using the same Apple ID with Home and Keychain being shown as using iCloud.


So why does it not work?

Hi,


Just to clarify, while your Home app updates with your HomeKit devices across iPad and iPhone, it does not appear to automatically update on macOS?


Please double check a couple things, and let me know what happens...

  • Are you signed in with the same Apple ID on your Mac used on iPhone and iPad to manage your HomeKit devices?
  • Is your Mac updated to the latest version of macOS?
  • Are you in a Family in iCloud that uses Family Sharing for Home?

Hi,


Thanks for responding:


  1. Your first statement is correct.
  2. Yes all devices are signed into the same iCloud account. Everything else is synchronizing across the iPhone, iPad and all my OS X devices (I have 3 laptops and 2 iMacs). e.g notes, contacts, safari favorites, passwords, photos etc.
  3. All devices are the latest version of iOS and OS X.
  4. I am the administrator for the account which is setup for Family Sharing. We share purchases and iCloud storage.
