Spots (tiny white ones) on iPhone 4 screen....

Has anyone seen this? It's gotten progressively worse... (it's hard to photograph, but the "spots" you see in this picture cover the whole front panel of the phone.) If I try to wipe it off with a microfiber cloth, they fade a little, but then become more pronounced again. It seems to be slightly worse in warmer temperatures. It seems like they're under the glass, or under a coating of some sort, because there's no texture to them and they can't be wiped off.

I appreciate any thoughts....

You're right, it does look like their is a screen protector on it. But I can assure you, there is not a screen protector, or anything that will peel off. I don't know what else I can say; please take the "screen protector" theory off the table, there isn't one.

I do appreciate the input, but I don't want to discourage other answers by making everyone think there's something that just needs to be peeled off, when there isn't.

I do see what you're saying; yes, the photo really does have several areas that look like there's a screen protector or some sort of layer there - especially where you point out, to the left of the home button. But, alas, after checking it out thoroughly, even that is a red herring. There's nothing on the screen except these strange dots... (I'll try to take a better picture when I get home- this was just a quick one to try to capture the size/pattern of the dots.)

thanks for the thoughts!

Christina....I have the same exact problem. I have not dropped my phone or anything. The only thing i can think that i did was to clean it once, i did spray a small amount of Windex onto a paper towel, and then cleaned my screen with the moist cloth. Nothing dripped into it or anything.

I don't think this caused the problem, think i did it in an attempt to remove these spots. But if you also did this, it may convince me that was what caused the problem.

Thanks

M

I took my phone to the Apple Store in Danbury, CT and they were able to see the issue even after taking it to the back room and giving it a good cleaning. I did not get an explanation as to what could be causing the issue. When I requested a replacement they did comply without issue. I've had the replacement phone for about three weeks now and I don't see this problem and am happy with the replacement phone.

I had the exact same problem. It gradually got worse until i couldnt stand it anymore. I took it to the genius bar and walked out with a new phone within 10 minutes, no problems/questions. i had my phone for about 2 months and i also noticed it would get worse when it was exposed to heat. he mentioned hearing something about it before, something between the screen and the glass, perhaps the oleophobic coating. i've never had any problems with taking stuff back to apple when it's not working properly.
