Is there a simple solution to this problem? I bought iPhone, iPad, and MacBook so they would be compatible. Wake up, APPLE!!!! I see posts re/ the MOV incompatibility going back for years. It is incomprehensible to me that such a fundamental issue remains unsolved. I’m not a computer whiz. These things are tools. It doesn’t help a bit to look for help and get a dissertation in IT babble why the iPad can’t play MOV files. Fix the problem!!!
Not all file formats can be accessed by native Apps. You will find third-party Apps in the Apple App Store (some paid, some free) that may add or improve upon native functionality of your device(s).
For video files, perhaps take a look a VLC for Mobile - as it reportedly plays most video formats:
