how to restore Thunderbird from Time Machine backup

I recently lost my Thunderbird files. I have a Time Machine backup.

Can anyone advise how to restore the Thunderbird email messages (as many as were backed up) from the Time Machine backup?

OS High Sierra 10.13.6 (2017 iMac)

Thanks.

In Finder negotiate to...

(of course yours will not be anoehcql, but something unique)

Locating the email folder

The first step to creating a backup of the email folder is locating it. The default location is in your

~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/anoehcql.default folder. In the figure below, the window has been opened up to the location of the Mail folder.

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

  1. From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.
  2. In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

Once that open in Finder use the Enter Time Machine.
