iPhone X Contacts Sync Issues

Hello. I am not syncing my contacts to iCloud, but rather have been syncing only with my iMac. I am running the latest MacOS in which Finder is now the data syncing program (not iTunes). Lately when I backup my iPhone to my iMac, I receive the following error message: "Could not sync contacts to the iPhone because an error occurred remapping record identifiers. Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the contacts on the iPhone from the Info tab in the iPhone settings."

When I go to the tab in Finder to follow the instructions in the message, I receive the message that says that I am syncing both my Calendar and Contacts with iCloud. However, I do not have Contacts selected to sync with iCloud on any of my devices.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

From reading your post, it appears your are unable to sync your contacts from your iPhone X to your iMac, correct? We're here to help you take a look in to that!

With the contacts sync off in the iCloud settings, how are the contacts on to the iPhone X? Let's verify how the contacts are located or synced to the iPhone X. Tap on the Contacts app > Groups in the top left corner > Verify how the contacts are on the iPhone X.
