I don’t see an AirPrint selection anywhere so how do I print from iPad?

You have to check that your printer supports Airprint, see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201311

Example:

Open a written note in Notes app

Tap on upper right corner (the square box with arrow up)

A windows should open.... check for print.

In other words, there's no Airprint setting on iPads or iPhones. But you can print choosing the share icon, in almost every app.

Obviously your printer MUST be compatible.
