HP printer dropping off the network?

hi all,

i have a HP wifi enabled printer and it seems to keep dropping off the network so i can print from the DESKTOP but not my iphone or laptop. when i power it down it will reconnect and then at some point it will drop off again.

any ideas on where to start?

i am going to disconnect the power again and try this again but i am not too hopeful.

I have to go into Network settings and select the printer in the Network Name box before documents print. I then have to go back into Network settings and select my WiFi network in order to connect to the internet. Am I missing something? Thanks.

No longer able to see the printer on the network Since the update to 10.14.6 (could be a coincidence?) I can no longer see my HP Envy 5540 printer on the wi fi network. I have tried everything including downloading recommended software (HP Easy Start). I know the printer is working and is on the network as I am able to send a file via email to my iPhone where it prints to the printer from there successfully. Cant think of anything else to try. Any clues

Frequently Cannot Print to HP Printer on Local Network This has been a LONG-STANDING, RECURRING problem. The Macs in my household - all on the same wifi network as my HP printer - frequently cannot find the printer. It is very frustrating as it seems to happen when I need to print something quickly. I should note this is currently occurring with an HP Envy Pro 6455; however, it happened in the past with other HP printers. Is this a problem with HP? With Macs (I have same issue with an iMac, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air)? Any suggestions? At this point even purchasing a non-HP printer would be considered. I'm that frustrated! Thanks, Bryan

thanks. no. unplug the router for five seconds and plug it back in?

Yes give it a try, but 2 minutes might be better.
