How do I set time machine to a schedule?

Currently the only options I know of for time machine backup is automatic and manual, but I don't want either. I want to be able to schedule time machine to backup at night when I'm sleeping and not during the middle of the day or simply whenever. So my question is how do I put time machine on an automatic schedule?

Well then you are stuck aren't you as Apple does not provide a Time Machine scheduler.

So are you saying you only have Apple apps on your mac, what would be the point of that.

Time Machine Editor has been around for years and is perfectly fine.

Then there is Murphy's law where you create, and accidentally delete, or overwrite a document between scheduled Time Machine backups and would be left with no means of that particular document recovery.

My iMac is on from usually 6am until 10:30 pm, and I use no Time Machine scheduler. Approximately, every hour, a Time Machine backup occurs, and because I am using an external SSD as the target device, the backup is done almost always before I notice it in the menu bar. I have never "lost" a document I could not recover from a Time Machine Restore.
