what password is being used to protect the backup (Finder/Apple Configurator)

I had to backup a users phone before sending it out for repair.

I connected the phone to my Mac and performed a backup using Apple Configurator.

It did not prompt me for a password to create the backup, so what password is being used to protect the backup.

Did Apple Configurator use some "set"/defined password or did I enter a password and not recall doing so? Being the admin, I'm not saying I never make mistakes, but shame on me if I entered a password and do not recall.

Answering my own question.

Again, I do not recall entering a password. I was able to use Keychain access, locate the last iOS backup (which was months ago, not the one I did) enter my password and display the password tied to the backup. It was a 5 digit number (definitely not a password I would create).

I wonder if since I performed the backup via Apple Configurator (instead of Finder) it used the Keychain password?

Anyway... I am off to the races. Restoring the users data. He will be happy.
