Why doesn't "Find My" work with iPad?

Occasionally, I will misplace my iPad. When I try to use "Find My" on my iPhone to find the iPad the iPad does not make a pinging sound. The app will show me the location, approximately, of the iPad. But no sound from the iPad is heard.

I will find my iPad the old fashion way, and it tells me that it was being searched for. I have checked Notifications for "Find My", all options are turned on.

If I power cycle the iPad it WILL play sounds when searched for. A few hours later it will not.

The iPad is on the latest operating system.

Well, it actually does "find it". Everything works absolutely perfectly except that the iPad will only make the ping noise for about 30 minutes after a restart. After that time, it will not. Very strange.

Hello,

If Find My cannot find your iPad then there is nothing you can do to locate your iPad rather than physically searching for it.
