SiriusXM shortcut to change channel
Very useful when driving.
SiriusXM app Shortcut to open and change channels:
This is how to create Shortcuts for the SiriusXM app on the iPhone that open and play each channel you want to listen to following the below instructions.
1. Download the Shortcuts app from the App Store
2. Open it and select CREATE SHORTCUT then select ADD ACTION
3.On the top bar of icons Scroll over to the right to WEB and select
4. Then scroll down under Safari section to OPEN URLs
5. Then on next page touch the blue URL letters and this is where you can paste the direct URL to your Sirius channel.
6. Copy and paste the following URL first.
https://www.siriusxm.com/pre_dl_ch_icc?type=live&channelName=
Then immediately after the = type the name of the Channel using upper and lowercase letters and no spaces or special characters. Like the following examples which you can copy and paste. Use one URL for each Sirius channel you want to create a shortcut for.
https://www.siriusxm.com/pre_dl_ch_icc?type=live&channelName=BeastieBoysChannel
https://www.siriusxm.com/pre_dl_ch_icc?type=live&channelName=AltNation
https://www.siriusxm.com/pre_dl_ch_icc?type=live&channelName=SiriusXMU
https://www.siriusxm.com/pre_dl_ch_icc?type=live&channelName=ThePrinceChannel
7. Select DONE and then select the Blue button next to NEW SHORTCUT at the top right to Name the shortcut. Pick a easy short name without Sirius in the name. Just PRINCE or U2 or XMU.
8. Select DONE once you are finished and Siri will now open that specific channel when you say “Siri, Prince.” Or “Siri, Underground Garage”
* note. Not all channels work. Pay attention to the channel name and you still might have to adjust to get it to work. For example spelling out FirstWave versus 1st Wave. I have some channel titles below that work so feel free to add to this list as you get your channels to work.
Working Channel Titles as of 7/20:
BeastieBoysChannel
AltNation
SiriusXMU
ThePrinceChannel
SiriuslySinatra
CNN
NPRNow
FirstWave
U2XRadio
