Macbook pro black screen

I was having my online class and when our class ended I shutted down my laptop and ate for lunch. When I open my Mac up it was blacked out and I don't know how I can open it back, but the keyboard are still working, for the caps key is still lighting on. If I wait within 10 minutes it opens and a gray screen appears and asks me to reset my password for it "was" forgotten, although I still know my password. I try resetting it hoping the screen would light on, but even waiting for 30 minutes it doesn't still light open. I tried some several youtube suggestions about that matter but none of it works. What should I do? Lol, this problem occured when I needed my Mac the most. My macbook's version is macbook pro 15" 2008/2009, i'm not that sure for it was given by my parents.

MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.10
