I have a carrier unlocked iPhone XR that was previously under contract with Sprint that I am now using with Metro by T-Mobile. I want to factory reset it but I’m not sure if by doing so will it re-lock the phone.

If it was legitimately unlocked by Sprint, it will remain unlocked.
If you had it "factory unlocked" any other way, then it will revert to its original locked state.
