security alert/account locked

I got simultaneously logged out of my apple devices and an alert saying that my account was locked for security reasons and I need to change my password. I changed my password and logged out of other devices (they were all devices I recognized.) How can I find out why my apple ID was flagged?

iPhone 6s, iOS 13

This is the answer I got from the Apple Advisor:

Our account gets disabled for security when we or someone else entered the password, security questions, or other account information incorrectly too many times. The Apple ID automatically locks to protect your security and you can't sign in to any Apple services.
