Regarding Time Machine Back-Up

Hi,

I am trying to do Time Machine back-up in my New MacBookPro 2020, I have purchased a new 2TB external Hard-disk (LaCie 2TB Mobile Drive USB3.1-C Silver : STHG2000400) but when I use Time machine I am getting the below error

There was an error preparing the Time machine backup disk “New Volume”

POSIX reports: The operation couldn’t be completed. Invalid argument

Please let me know how to fix this?

Regards

Lenin Christopher

Hi,

Reformat external drive as APFS with DiskUtility could solve the issue.
