Look in the recently deleted album in the photos app. Deleted photos remain there for 30 days.

If you emptied the recently deleted album and if you backup photos, you have to restore the backup to recover the photos. The photos that you deleted would have to be in the backup for this to work and when you restore a backup, you overwrite the current contents on your device.
