Finding a serial number.... help!

SO here's my issue. I have a 13" mid-2014 MacBook Pro. When I go to about this Mac, no serial number. When I go to my iCloud settings and look at my devices, it says "unknown". Usually I would get it off of the bottom but the issue with that is, the original bottom panel was damaged and I bought one off of Ebay from a parted out machine. I stupidly thrown out the original one with the serial.

Is there anywhere inside the Mac where I can get the serial number from?

Hmm. Have you had the board replaced at some point(?)— this would be an issue, and require Apple service to flash the board.

From Terminal.app you can try the copy and paste this command line:

 system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | awk '/Serial/ {print $NF}' | open -f

if no success you can try from:

Also any paper work from your records— the original purchase will have your SN, white paper or electronic receipt, or on the original box itself.

I believe there is a serial number & barcode on the inside of the Top Case beneath the right speaker or just below the SSD.

Edit: If it is not in one of those locations, then look around the center frame and battery for a white sticker & barcode with the serial number (should not need to remove any components to see the sticker near the frame or battery). I don't really pay attention to where each model puts it stickers, but these are the general locations for the sticker which I know the 2014 model has. FYI, the 2016+ models no longer have the system serial number on the inside (at least not that I've ever seen or found).
