How do I us my Apple Pencil to write on PDF files that I receive from a online class and store them in Notes app.

I am starting an online class were my assignments are send via a PDF file. I want to highlight, write notes etc. on these assignments and then store them in my Apple Notes App. I am looking for an easy solution and willing to purchase app that will help with PDF files.
