A Bluetooth keyboard will work. A mouse will NOT. In order to use a mouse on an iPad, you would need a much newer iPad, capable of running iPadOS 13 or higher. An 8 year old device such as iPad 4th generation cannot be updated beyond iOS 10.

You're welcome. Just an FYI that at this time, these out of date, under powered, no longer supported iPad's Gen 1, 2, 3, 4 won't run most modern apps anymore. It really is time to give serious consideration to saving up for a more modern iPad.
