2006 Macbook.A1181.Time to decide?

Is it worth saving? I'd like to get it running. I can get to two pages after 2 different startups. Pressing power button alone shows NTLDR is missing. Pressing power button + option shows Windows HD icon. Clicking that sends me back to NTLDR.

All of the externals are working..CD,keyboard,battery,lights,etc. One exception is Number Lock light.

So, based on that, and I know it's probably not enough info but is it enough to carry on?

Thought about Apple Store but not at $89. I am able to do most DIY.

Thanks for your time and to those who have replied previously.

You've already been given suggestions about how to deal with this issue in your original thread here:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251638274

Have you tried those suggestions?

If you are trying to get Windows to boot, then that is an entirely different manner, but you never said you wanted to get Windows booting. Regardless if you are trying to fix Windows, the suggestions in the other thread will also help with Windows since you will most likely need to reinstall Windows anyway since you would need a Boot Camp version of the Windows installer to even attempt repairing a Windows boot issue (if it is even possible).

The missing NTLDR means the system cannot find one of the MS Windows boot files. This either occurred because a change was made to a partition on the drive so the bootloader cannot find the Windows boot file or the file system has become corrupt perhaps due to a failing hard drive.

Most likely it would be WinXP since it is a 2006 computer.

I don't use Boot Camp so I cannot assist you on how to fix this issue on a Mac (assuming the hard drive is healthy). You may need to create a bootable version of WinXP using Boot Camp Assistant. You will need to boot the Windows installer and access the advanced boot menu (F8) to access the troubleshooting & repair tools included with Windows to try and auto-fix the boot issue. It is not easy to fix Windows boot issues even on a standard PC. If the automatic "Startup Repair" does not fix things, then unless you are familiar with repairing Windows you will be better off reinstalling Windows.
