How do I get more storage?! My phone is so slow and it doesn’t work half the time. I don’t know what “other” means when I look at my storage

Whilst you cannot purchase additional internal storage for your iPhone, you can upgrade your iCloud storage:Buy more iCloud storage - Apple Support

Can you tell us how much total storage does your iPhone 11 Pro Max have and how much of that total storage is in the "Other" category? Thanks.

Hi

Do a backup of your device then erase it. then restore the device from that backup. That will remove most of the "Other"
