MacBook Pro laptop screen is flickering after being dropped

I dropped my (2014) MacBook Pro laptop onto a carpeted floor. Now, I have a 1/2 inch black border along the right side of the screen and a slightly darkened 1 in border along the bottom of the screen. The dock was only half visible so I moved it to the left side of the desktop. There is also a flickering that occurs along the lower edge of the screen, however, I can still see and access all other functions of the laptop.

Question: I wonder if I could re-set the screen w/o taking it for repair, or if left unrepaired, if the problem will get worse? I think I can live with it as it is.
