iPhone disabled

Hi, my daughter is locked out of her iPhone, she put the wrong password in too many times and now her phone is disabled. How can she get back into her phone?

If the iPhone says that it’s disabled and that you need to ‘connect to iTunes’, you will be unable to get back into the device and will have to erase all data on it and start afresh. This is a security feature that prevents brute-force attempts to unlock your iPhone.

First follow the steps at the top of this page to put your iPhone in Recovery Mode.

Connect the iPhone to a Mac. In macOS Catalina and Big Sur, open Finder and click your device’s name in the sidebar. In earlier versions of macOS, open iTunes. When you see the option to Restore or Update your iPhone, select Restore. Finder or iTunes will download the latest version of iOS and restart your device multiple times. You can then set up as new and, if you have one, restore from a backup.
