iphone 4 VPN and Sonicwall 2040

I too am trying to get the iPhone 4 working with the Sonicwall VPN. I followed the docs you referenced and it did not work. I called Sonicwall and they could not get it working either. I am thinking it is a issue with the iPhone 4.

I too am having trouble getting the iphone 4 to connect to my sonciwall 2400 VPN. I can connect just fine on my older iphone with os 3.1, but with the same settings on the iphone 4 no go. I upgraded to the latest sonicwall firmware. From viewing the logs it looks like iphone has changed something in the stage 2 of negotiations.

thanks for the info. I followed the setup exactly and it works great on a PC, my ipad, iphone 3g running version 3, but no go on the iphone 4.

that did the trick, had to switch to 128, 256 would not work

noticed that when I connect sometimes the sonicwall completely restarts now, anyone else notice this? I will open a support case with sonicwall

Following those instructions and switching from 3DES to 128bit did the trick for me on a SonicWall TZ 190. I am able to VPN with my iPhone 4 now.

I also try to manage vpn access from iphone 4 to sonicwall 2040 pro.
Firmware is some old 3.1 something
I never used vpn till now.

I followed the guides above, but no chance to get it work, i also tried 128 and 256 bit instad of 3DES.
Sonicwall is behind a Linksys Gateway from my dsl Provider in DMZ.

Then iPhone 4 says, vpn Server is not answering.

Ok, i got it running by myself.
Solution was firmware upgrade.
Loaded and bootet new firmware 4.2.1.0 en with same config and settings.
Started vpn on iphone 4 > connected.
