Video picture different on playback

iPad Pro 12.9 in. 4th gen. iOS 13.5.1.

I am trying to see if there’s a setting I can use to view my shot before recording that matches the playback.

As I am trying to frame my shot, the camera fills the screen. On playback, the video is then letterboxed, showing a wider frame.

same result shooting 1080 or 4K.

Camera display ratio while recording video On this new iPad, the camera, in video mode, displays 4:3 ratio, but records 16:9 ratio, so the left and right sides of the video are not visible while recording. I want the camera to display 16:9 while recording video, so I can see the whole video while recording, but I cannot find any relevant option in settings, nor any advice about how to do this. Attempting to zoom out or a similar action on the camera display has not worked. Thanks

iPad Recording 16:9 I can’t seem to find the option to change the aspect ratio for taking videos and pictures. Was the feature removed? I have a friend with the exact same ipad model as me and she is able to video in 16:9 but I am stuck on 4:3.

iPad Pro camera settings aspect ratio pics - photo vs square iPad Pro has 2 camera modes that is the only way I can find to change aspect ratio of the pictures. I assumed square was 4:3 and photo was 16:9 however when editing pics and changing the aspect ratio it’s apparent that these ratios are not correct. Does anyone know what the aspect ratios are of photos and Square in iPad Pro camera? I can’t find the answer on Google.

Hello,

In the Camera application > Double-tap the camera’s preview to switch between aspect ratios.
