Sandisk USB type C flash drive cannot be used on IPad Pro 2018?

When i copy photos from IPad Pro to a Sandisk USB type C flash drive, the photos or files often get corrupted and the Sandisk directory name kept changing to Errorname, and some other corrupted characters. Has anyone has similar experience and how can this issue be solved? Sometime a whole file directory will disappear or gets corrupted and i would have to copy those files or photos again.
