I have an Iphone XR and when a coworker (iphone XR also)called me his emoji came up full screen on my phone when he called me. I asked how he did this and he had no idea. I have been looking and have had no luck in finding how to do this. Can someone tell me how this is done? So I can do this on my phone my ios is 13.6. Thank You.

Thanks for posting on Apple Support Communities. It sounds as though you are interested in added your Animoji as your contact photo on your iPhone.
In order to accomplish this you will need to edit your contact card, which is located at the top of your contacts list. To do this tap Contacts> My Card> Edit> Edit photo> Select your Animoji.
