So basically my problem is the exact same, the only difference being that I unboxed this device today. I have scoured the internet for information to no avail. Please make it make sense. I have been charging this laptop almost 10 hours at this point.

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service after the stores re-open. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD). You may also get Apple authorized service at a local Best Buy or contact Apple Support for more options.

Is the machine new or was Elisa the original owner? If Elisa is just a retailer, is she/he an authorized Apple reseller? If the machine is new but not purchased from an Apple authorized vendor, then Apple may not honor the warranty. In other words, you would have to send it to Elisa for warranty service. Apple's warranty provides that within the first 14-days from date of purchase, you may return the product for replacement or refund, not questions asked. I suggest you contact Elisa about a replacement. I would also suggest you contact Apple Support as well. You will need your dated purchase receipt, all packaging, and the computer's serial number.

In the heat of the moment it seems that I failed to mention that I purchased this device through a telecom operator (Elisa) not directly from Apple. This shouldn’t matter a whole lot, since when looking up Elisa’s website for help they recommended to contact Apple directly.

Should I just call Apple’s customer service or something? I genuinely don’t know what to do.
