Contacts function freezes up.

Since the latest 2 updates, contacts function keeps freezing up. I'm currently running iOS 13.6. Any suggestions?

iPhone Contacts app stuck on Lists Iphone X IOS 16.1.2 - the contacts app is stuck on the LISTS function. I can add a list or edit a list, but I can't get off the LISTS screen. I've closed the app - no luck. I've powered off and restarted. I saw a related topic where a solution was to hold the power down button simultaneously with the sleep/wake button and wait for the Apple logo ignoring the slide to power off.
