My iwatch 5 continues to hand off to my Iphone 11 pro even if I turn the option off. It defeats the entire purpose of why I purchased the watch...to be free from being tethered to my phone at home. How can I stop this

Ok I will give this a try and let you know. My watch is basically a waste of money. It is on data but will not work independent of the phone. It has been replaced twice. sim card replaced in watch and phone.

Handoff is on by default. To disable it, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, tap General, then turn off Enable Handoff.
Try turning handoff off in your iphone settings app.
