New Apple TV 4K will not go to sleep after 15 minutes as set. Stays on all night. Reset does not fix. How can I correct it?

The device will go to sleep when idle. It will not go to sleep when streaming. It is not a sleep timer in the sense of going to sleep when you start dozing off while watching.

Understood. I exit whatever app I was watching and return the ATV to the home screen. Then change the TV’s input to the cable tv input before turning the tv off.
my old ATV always went to sleep. Problem started when I upgraded to a 4K unit.
