location services

Hi

I would like to access my GPS location for the past months on my iphone 11.

I believe the location services have been turned on at all times

Is it possible to retrieve this data? How?

Hello Manu_972,

We understand wanting to have access to GPS location information for the past month on your iPhone, and we'd be happy to help.

"Location Services is designed to protect your information and enable you to choose what you share.

Location Services allows Apple and third-party apps and websites to gather and use information based on the current location of your iPhone or Apple Watch to provide a variety of location-based services.

To use features such as these, you must enable Location Services on your iPhone and give your permission to each app or website before it can use your location data."

Location Services & Privacy

On the iPhone, you can view a list of each individual location that's been logged through Location Services. This list of places, called Significant Locations, is encrypted end-to-end and cannot be read by Apple. You can also turn it off in the iPhone's Settings menu.

Here's how to view the list of locations tracked through Location Services:

Go to: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Scroll down to the bottom of the list of apps that use Location Services and select 'System Services.', then go to 'Significant Locations'

After authenticating with your password or Face ID, you'll see a list of cities and towns you've recently visited.

Cheers!

Manu_972,

Thanks for those additional details.

As mentioned in Location Services & Privacy:

"Your iPhone and iCloud connected devices will keep track of places you have recently been, as well as how often and when you visited them, in order to learn places that are significant to you. This data is end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by Apple. It is used to provide you with personalized services, such as predictive traffic routing, and to build better Memories in Photos."
