Hook up 2 iMacs

I have 2 iMacs and I want to use the old iMac as secondary monitor.

I purchased "thunderbolt cable" and "thunderbolt to USB-C cable" to hook up both computers.

I tried pressing Command + F2 but nothing happend.

Can anybody help with hook up 2 iMacs?

BTW, my new computer is iMac version 10.14 Retina 27-inch

old computer is iMac version 10.6 27-inch

iMac 27″, macOS 10.12

Connect iMac 2014 as second moniter with M1PRO Hi, I bought latest Macbook PRO M1 before new year 2022 and I really want to use my iMac late 2014 as a second monitor. I have readed many article on the internet. I bought USB-C Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Port and Thunderbolt cable. I connected them to each other. I press Cmd - F2 ... but it wasn't work... I have to so many keyboard setup but it still wasn't work. Please help what I'm done wrong or what I have to do. Thank you

I don't know for certain, but I think maybe add the Function key while doing command + F2? Usually by default I think the top row of keys are not set as function keys. I hope that works!!
