The Jupiter-8 synth plug-in is too powerful for my DAW, garageband definitely cannot handle it. I was wondering if the problem would subside if I switched to a better DAW, or is there anyway I can fix the problem without making any big changes?

I don't see an option to change the buffer or polyphony in the plugin itself. But I do see an options button and checked the "optimize for lower CPU usage" and that seemed to lessen it a lot. I guess the only plight left is that when I'm recording and playing the plugin in the company of other instruments the audio starts to fuzz out and glitch. But it's okay I can manage.

lowering polyphony means using fewer voices - so select 6. 4 or 2 voices and see how that is!
Is it the Roland Cloud one?
its very CPU intensive, so it’s not DAW related in that sense.
try increasing buffer to say 128 and reduce polyphony in the JP8 options menu.
Buffer is a logic setting in preferences>audio
