I am giving a friend my old ipad. All she has is a landline phone. What does she need to connect with the ipad.(We are technologically challenged)
She is going to need WiFi and internet access. Without those the iPad really doesn’t function. Based on the fact that you own one, I assume you have both in your home, so that’s a starting point in determining her needs.

Before giving your iPad to your friend, you will need to properly prepare it by following this process:
What to do before you sell, give away or trade in your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support
This will wipe any personal and sensitive data and remove the Activation Lock that will otherwise inhibit reuse. You can then setup the iPad as if it were new.
