No resolution, but I will share everything that I’ve done so far, so you don’t repeat anything that I have tried and waste you’re time:

  1. Uninstalled Zoom, Emptied Trash, Restarted Mac, then Reinstalled Zoom
  2. Uninstalled Zoom, deleted ZoomChat.plist files from the Preferences folder in Library, Emptied Trash, Restarted Mac, Reinstalled Zoom.
  3. Uninstalled Zoom, Turned Off Firewall, Emptied Trash, Restarted Mac, Reinstalled Zoom.
  4. Uninstalled Zoom, Added a VPN, Emptied Trash, Restarted Mac, Reinstalled Zoom
  5. Uninstalled Zoom, Emptied Trash, Shut Down Mac, Reset NVRAM, Reinstalled Zoom.
  6. Uninstalled Zoom, Emptied Trash, Shut Down Mac, Reset SMC, Reinstalled Zoom
  7. Uninstalled Zoom, Emptied Trash, Created A New Login User (Both an Admin and Standard User with and without setting up an iCloud), Reinstalled Zoom
  8. Uninstalled Zoom, Emptied Trash, Separated my important files and put them on a usb drive, Erased Mac and reinstalled the Yosemite MacOS (the MacOS that was originally installed on my MacBook), Skipped Setting Up an iCloud, Reinstalled Zoom (Please Note: I tried doing it once more using an iCloud and same result)
  9. Uninstalled Zoom, Emptied Trash, Updated Software to Catalina, Skipped Setting Up iCloud, Reinstalled Zoom.
  10. I have also tried a wide range of variations of the aforementioned steps as well. I could safely say that I have installed and reinstalled Zoom over 50+ times in the past two months.

(I have a Script file that I used for the previous version of Zoom to bypass the 1132 Error Code, but unfortunately since the latest update to version 5.20, I am unable to use that Script file to access a meeting through the app. If anyone knows anything about Script or coding, and would like to examine the Zoom Override 1132 Error Code Script file to see if it could be modified to work for the most recent Zoom update, I am more than happy to share it with you! Just as long as you promise to share with me the modified version if you are successful.)

Same problem on my 2019 Retina 4K 21.5 inch iMac running Catalina. My older 27 iMac signs in fine but on the 21 I get Error 1132 when I attempt to sign in with my account or other pro or higher accounts. Can access my account on the browser. Zoom help is slow. Let me know if we find a solution. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled.

Yeah same here, so I had my law school, whose using their services for classes this Fall, reach out to support and still no luck. That is why I’m so adamant about finding a resolution. My entire law school curriculum is being utilized through Zoom’s Infrastructure, and I have got to do whatever I can to be able to bypass this 1132 Error Code by any means necessary.

Not entirely sure if we can post that in the forums so I just put my email on my profile. If for some reason its removed before you see it you can put it on your Google Drive and share the file by sharing the file and posting the link on here and btw I have found a workaround for the 1132 Error code last night but its a bit finicky. Working on writing the detailed instructions and getting the files together that you'll need. I just want to see if this would be easier (which I know it will ) cause I use to have the App Script as well but it got misplaced during the few years I didn't have a Mac.

This is how I got this problem fixed.

1) Uninstall all the zoom apps for all users.

2) In the System Preferences, go Users and Groups, and create new login account.

3) Login as the one you just created.

4) Download the latest version of zoom.

5) When you install, chose "Only for this user" (wording might not be exactly the same)

6) Open Zoom

7) Logoff from the temporary user, logon as your original user and open zoom.

8) Try to see if you can use zoom.

9) Delete the temporary user as necessary.

Hope this will work.

I have the same problem, and all solution above do not work, Zoom do not recognize that error code, and zoom customer service of zoom avoid any complain about it. The reason is simple :

Zoom Error Code 1132 Is Zoom’s Ability To Block Your Devices Mac (Media Access Control Address) Address. Because Of Zoom’s Ability To Block Those 2 Unique Device Identifiers. It Prevents People From Ever Using Zoom On That Device Ever Again Without Software Modifications Done To The Users Device. We know already how Zoom was malicious, and it does not stop there. But I m curious to Know is it that legal to do so ? as any others user of my mac will have the same problem, because the mac adress is unique for each device. And after so many problem i do not understand we cannot find any comment from apple ???? thanks

Thanks, but this is just an alternative, i will like to know how Zoom detect the MAC adress, is it via a malicious program instore in our system because from outside it make no sense as they got to link a name to mac adress, and taking the risk to block a device that was use not by the owner....And because Zoom and Apple are silence about it, it make it even more suspicious....

Thanks to all of you for the feedback. I find this whole situation very disturbing - the fact that Zoom can actually block a device from ever using it's software! In my case, I can't use Zoom on my iPhone - although I am able to still use my iPad. What happens if they block my iPad?

Even more amazing - that their customer support is completely non-responsive! That said, if customer support responds, they will have to acknowledge that they are definitely blocking devices - and that may open them up for liability.
