Deleted iMessages still taking space on iCloud!

Hello!

I've tried following Apple's instructions on how to delete messages on iCloud (I have both a Mac and iPhone) and even though on my iPhone "top conversations" take 1.6MB, "manage storage" still says I'm using 3.9GB of data on iCloud for messages. How do I flush the unused data from Apple's servers?

Thanks a bunch!

After deleting the message did you turn off messages in iCloud - Settings > name > iCloud > switch off Messages.
