Updating payment for iCloud on a new phone

Both my kids got an iPhone 8 recently, the email was sent to my email address , I pay for both, asking to update their iCloud billing information to keep your storage upgrade. We followed the steps in the email but the prompts don’t get us through successful. Can seem to get it completed.
