Car Bluetooth call interference iPhone 11

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 7 Plus to the iPhone 11. My car has built in Bluetooth and hands free calling. I have never had any issues until I got my new handset. The iPhone 11 connects via Bluetooth and I can play music and use GPS through the car speakers perfectly. The issue is when I make calls or someone calls me whilst the phone is connected, it makes an interference noise like when you FaceTime someone who’s too close to you. I have tried everything, even connected my mums iPhone 8 And the calls worked fine so I’m guessing it’s something to do with the handset?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a lot of car phone calls with my job!

Hi loubie225,

Thanks for letting us know. Let's look into this some more. Do you have a case on the iPhone when you experience this issue? If so, try removing it, and then test the call quality. We'd also like to have you perform these steps, and test the call quality after reach one:

  • Go to Settings > Cellular, and disable the cellular data.
  • Go to Settings > Phone, and disable Wi-Fi calling if applicable.

Let us know if either of these works for you.

Have a great day!

Hello thanks for the reply! I have looked through the troubleshoot tips but nothing is working. It’s only when I accept phone calls via Bluetooth when driving. Everything else works fine just the calls sounds like people are under water or can’t hear me at all. I have re wired the whole Bluetooth system in the car and still the same issue! It’s driving me mad!
