Watch won’t pair to iPhone 6?

Apple Watch won’t pair to iPhone 6. Says it iPhone needs update but when you start this theres no updates available (on 12.4.8) and therefore stuck in a loop. Any suggestions?

watchOS 6 require the phone to run ios13 or higher to pair, iphone6 does not support ios13 so it can't be used with apple watchs with watchOS higher than 5
