Dell P2419H scanning for signal when Macbook Pro is closed

Hi,

I bought P2419H today and connected to my Macbook Pro. When I close my laptop, the monitor scans for a signal every 30 seconds or so. When I tap the keyboard, it comes back on and asks for my password. Basically, I have to re-enter my password every 30 seconds.

When the laptop is open, everything works fine. How can I make my screen on without constantly checking for a signal? I use the same laptop at work, and my Dell U2715HC works without a hitch.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you!
