I bought a portable monitor that says it is plug & play with Mac OS... when I plug it in, the screen powers on then goes black. I'm following the instructions here on how to enable it - but I do not have the Arrangement Tab it tells me to go to.
Ordinarily, simply connecting an external display with the correct cables, but in a powered off state, removes the Arrangement tab in System Preferences : Displays. When the device is powered on, the Arrangement tab appears.
